21 year old Tom Grennan is a Bedford born singer-songwriter. His debut track ‘Something in the water’ has been gaining incredible momentum since it’s release in August. I was lucky enough to see Tom live at his gig in Leicester and I was not disappointed with what I heard.
Opening with ‘Old Songs’, Tom’s husky tones and direct storytelling quickly had the crowd draw in. The tracks that made Tom really shine though were ‘Sweet Hallelujah’ with its long drawn out notes and incredible vocals, ‘Something in the water’ with Tom’s soulful lyrics and upbeat delivery. Tom also played a few new tracks ‘Praying’ and ‘Reason to run in the rain’ which went down well with the crowd. Tom is not really the sort of music I usually listen to but there is something about his voice and song writing that I can’t help but love.
Tom has an amazing voice that makes anyone who hears it stop and listen to every word he says. If you get the chance to see this talented up and coming man live then go you will not be disappointed.
