The Baltics – ‘Carbon Theme Park’

With their catchy indie melodies, distinct vocals and a mixture of equal parts synth-pop and Brit-Pop, The Baltics have developed a distinct and eclectic sound that is utterly compelling. Influenced by the likes of Oasis, Blur, The 1975, The Stone Roses and The Holy, The Baltics produce stand-out anthems that have made them one of the North East’s must-see acts of 2020.

The Baltics have just released their brand new track, ‘Carbon Theme Park’, a protest song about the ever-worsening climate, disguised in a catchy rock song. Writer Shay Bagnall noted: “ I was influenced by my love for the planet and have implemented timeless styles reminiscent of 90s ‘Cool Britannia’ while also adding our own Baltics’ sound which includes the use of electronic synthesisers and a unique style of drumming”.

Having only recently heard about this band I was looking forward to hearing what the bands latest single was like and I was not disappointed with what I heard. Having listened to the new single god knows how many times now (I’ve lost count) I think it’s safe to say I am a fan on the new single.

The combination of riffs, great vocals and catchy sound makes this single a great treat for the ears, they’ve manged to write a song about an important topic and make it into a great catchy rock song which is not an easy thing to do. Considering this is a young band I think they have done a great job on this single, it’s been produced well and I can see this being added to my car playlist and me singing along to it on my journeys.

A great single from a talented young band and I can’t wait to hear more singles from the band in the future.
