The Harriets are a four piece band from Leeds consisting of Ben Schrodel, Daniel Parker-Smith, Jess Womack and Ryan Bailey, who have released their debut album ‘Hopefuls’ which is now available to listen to on all music platforms.

The lead single ‘Cafe Disco’ was released in late-May and well received by national and international press and radio. The track recently gained a spot on Spotify’s official Fresh Finds playlist.

I love how the band have managed to create an album that you only have to listen to once and you will have all the songs stuck in your head, sometimes this is a nightmare! however, that will not be the case with this incredible album full of catchy indie-pop & jazzy sounds.

What instantly makes this album stand out is the three-part vocal harmonies, it’s not something I have heard a lot of recently but for me it makes this album so special, as well as it’s unique sound I feel the harmonies gives this album an extra kick to stand out.

The track that really stands out for me is ‘Hopefuls’, the track grabbed my attention from the very beginning. The single detours drastically in its sound throughout but it manages to retain the bands unique sound, there is nothing I can fault with this single. It really stood out for me it has a mid-late 80’s sound to it with a modern twist which I love.

Your ears will undoubtedly adore every track on this incredible from a talented band who I can’t wait to hear more from in the future.

Great job guys!

9/10
