“We are the band Pressure. A Story Metal trio from Stockholm Sweden. We are playing Story Metal which is a sub genre to heavy metal and is defined by that all songs are based upon true stories and should reflect the mood of the story. Therefore, each and every song can have a new kind of song and even instrumentation. We base all our songs upon our own experiences or on stories that we have been told. We collect stories to use and tries to draw our musical energy from life itself! How can you write about life if you doesn’t dare to live life to its fullest?, Pressure was formed 2018 and the band consists of Simon, Olof and Emil and their team!”

Here’s what they had to say when we got a chance to ask them some questions.

How did you all meet?

“It all started with Emil being Simons guitar student. They quickly became friends and Simon dragged along Emil to some shows. The first one was actually a show he had to play as a bass player, he had never held a bass before! But after that they started to play the guitar together in the band with Emil as rhythm and Simon as lead. They played together for many years, touring all over Sweden as a cover/party band before starting to rewrite songs into much more heavy versions of the songs. They also wanted a real frontman so after auditioning many singers they found Olof. After this they started to write their own music and was ready to hit the road but then the pandemic struck”.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

“We have all had quite different musical influences growing up. As for me, Simon, I was listening to much blues and classical stuff before finding the rock/metal scene. I grew up in a small town where we had a lot of really good Swedish punk bands so I played a lot of punk as well!”

What made you want to be in a band?

“I have always wanted to be in a band. That’s my second family and the place where I can give my creative soul the place it needs and deserves”.

What has been your best gig?

“All of them? Each gig is so unique, I cannot rank them. They all bring so much both to me personally and musically. When I am on stage I connect with my music and the world around me stops. To more tomorrow and no more yesterday. Just now and there. That’s why I always improvise my solos as a guitarist. I know that there are many guitarist who writes their solos and then plays them on stage. I never do that, and I never record the same solo twice. I play that what I am feeling right there and then. Five minutes later I feel something else and therefore my solo will sound something else”.

Can you tell us a bit about your music?

“We are releasing our new album on May 7th. Its called “Path of a Shadow” and are a concept album about your, the listeners, life. Its told from your shadows perspective. Your shadow is the only one who is always with you, always around. You cannot hide your true self from your shadow. So the story about your life will have all the truths in it. We are very proud of the album and are looking forward to showing it to the world!”

Can you describe your music in 3 words?

“Truth, Heavy, Soulhitting”

What makes your band stand out from others?

“There are many good bands out there. Our angle is that we tell stories with our music and to help people handle the different pressures that exists in society today. We think that basing everything on true stories that we also tell between our songs makes the difference. We also challenge the image of the old school hard rock band today by not using a live drummer on stage”.

What are your plans for the rest of 2021?

“For the rest of the year we will release our album, and later an all German EP. We will also try to get back out to play live shows if the world goes back to somewhat normal”.

If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

“Helping people handling difficult situations. Bringing empowerment and strength to those who needs it the most”.

Do you have any gig’s coming up?

“No, and that’s to bad. Nothing is open in Sweden”.
