How did you all meet?
“At a furry convention. The three of us all bumped into each other dressed as sexy quokkas (each one sexier than the last) and the rest was gross, sweaty history”.
Who were your musical influences growing up?
“We all had different inspirations and influences growing up, but we all gravitated towards heavy music and musicians that made really loud and obnoxious music. I think we all enjoyed annoying our parents and our neighbours so we’d blast whatever would help us do just that”.
What made you want to be in a band?
“Our seemingly undying need to make complete asses of ourselves in front of people. What better way for us to deal with our incessant need for attention than to prance around a stage with giant inflatable t-rexes?”
What has been your best gig?
“We’ve had so many wonderful shows it’s really hard to pick. One of the shows we’re most proud of was our EP launch back in 2016 as it was the first time we put a show on completely ourselves and it went down a storm! We handed kazoos out to everyone, we had burlesque performers, face painting, the whole works!”
Can you tell us a bit about your music?
“At the time of writing this, we had just released our single ‘Medusa Medusa’, taken from our upcoming debut album ‘Look At Me Now’. The track is a musical explosion of eroticism, combining our love of theatrics with our passion for heavy music – it’s a cabaret style metal earworm. You truly have to experience it to fully understand it (and fortunately you can do so here” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dM1W-w0LdI
Describe your music in 3 words.
“Explosive, Erotic, Egregious”
What makes your band stand out from others?
“We don’t like to play by any rules, not even our own. Everything you hear is 100% authentic Novacrow and is a pure product of our essence. We put everything we have into what we do and we’re not willing to compromise by trying to be something we’re not. And fortunately for us, we’re hilarious and fucking awesome so our music ends up being just that”.
What are your plans for the rest of 2022?
“Furiously promote our new album (which, by the way, will be released on September 30th but you can pre-order it TODAY over at http://www.novacrowofficial.com/store ). We’re going to try and focus on performing a bit more as we’ve been devoting so much time to this album in these past few years”.
If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?
“Our undying love of kazoos. And our collection of wigs”.
Any gig’s coming up?
“We’ve got some things in the pipeline, but nothing we’re allowed to mention anything specific just yet. Gotta keep our fans on their toes, you know?”
