How did you all meet?

We met at the opera college and the internet

I have been working on this album together with Swedish and Italian musicians since the day I dropped out of the Academy of Opera. I had a year left and was supposed to take a year off, but I never came back. Instead, I started freelancing in the most diverse genres, music styles and venues.

After revising the album several times, we finally released our first single in January 2023. The album will be released on the Italian label Shunu Records to which I sent a demo at an early stage. After that, they have been a huge part of the process of developing the sound and arrangements of the songs.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

I grew up listening to indie pop, Britpop, swedish ballads, songs, rock, metal, synth, classical music and more.

What made you want to be in a band?

To get away with having long hair, bangs in the eyes, black clothes and playing the guitar

What has been your best gig?

I’m a freelance singer so I do gigs all the time, but always find it very hard to think of any gig as more special than the other. Everyone is equally important and in some way it is also relevant in retrospect

Can you tell us a bit about your music?

We turn operaarias and classical music to Symphonic rock/metal songs. Our latest release is the famous song Ave Maria, composed by Franz Schubert.

Describe your music in 3 words.

Operatic, Symphonic, Distorted

What makes your band stand out from others?

That we play music by classical composers. There are many opera metal bands but we really play real opera music

What are your plans for the rest of 2023?

4 Singles and album release. I will play live too. Either I play Lieder Distortion songs at concerts where it can fit or we do pure Lieder Distortion concerts, it depends on the interest

If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

For an unfocused image

Any gig’s coming up?

Yes, several pieces, but as I said, let’s see if I do Lieder Distortion songs at my own concerts or if it becomes a completely separate live project. I’ve been anonymous so far but the third single (released at the end of May) I’m so proud of that I probably have to present it to people who follow me.
