How did you all meet?

– Me and Thoubi went to the same school, but we didn’t talk  much back then. I just knew that he is a drummer, and that was enough for me to hit him up. Then we endured the first awkward practice session, and kept on going to this day.  – Ozzie

– In 2015 Pineapple and my first band, Too Hot for Radio, were playing together at some all-age festival. I broke a string from my Stratocaster so I had to borrow Ozzie’s guitar for the rest of the set. Later I chatted with Thoubi at the afterparty. So that’s basically how I met the guys, however I had no clue that we’d be playing together some day. -Jake

Who were your musical influences growing up?

– I grew up listening to some sort of alternative rock, and I remember Jack White’s side project, the Racounteurs, being one of my first favorites (their debut came out in 2006). I also liked some old rock like the Beatles, the Who and the Rolling Stones. However, when I saw Green Day live in 2010, I instantly became a pop punk -fan. -Jake

– My influences were bands such as: Green Day, NOFX, Blink 182, Social Distortion and Alkaline Trio. So, pretty typical California punkscene stuff. – Ozzie

What made you want to be in a band?

– The Green Day -show mentioned above made me pick up my guitar again after a few-year-break. Then I started taking lessons from the former Smack-guitarist Rane whose practical methods made me believe in myself, and the natural next step was to start looking for a band. -Jake

What has been your best gig?

– With Pineapple I think it was the show at Lepakkomies, Helsinki last fall. It was a Wednesday but the venue was full of our friends and family members who had come to see us and made the show unforgettable. But I think the best show I’ve ever played was with 2h4r in 2014 when we played at a scout camp, an hour drive away from Helsinki. We had just released our first demo-EP and had really no idea how to play but the crowd in this small tent went really crazy, even though they all were sober. -Jake

Can you tell us a bit about your music? E.g. any new singles?

– The summer is knocking on the door! We’ll be releasing our upcoming EP this summer. So, stay tuned for the release date! Our music is upbeat, but contains pretty dark themes. – Ozzie

Describe your music in 3 words.

– Upbeat, neurotic, manic-depressive.

What makes your band stand out from others?

– I believe we are pretty original in the sense that we try to go against the grain. And I believe that we have a certain style which is not too similar to other California punkscene inspired bands. But I think that every band thinks this, so take my word with a grain of salt. -Ozzie

What are your plans for the rest of 2023?

– We have loads of content in mind. Music videos, tours, gigs , merch, an upcoming EP. You name it!

If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

– Honesty! – Ozzie

Any gig’s coming up?

– In June we’ll be at Hard Rock House, Eastern Helsinki, so it’s close to my home. Let’s hope we’ll have the new EP out by that. There will also be some festivals, minitours and maybe a little Sweden-Denmark -tour in the summer and fall. -Jake
